Who I am

I am a scientist and an educator. I love learning fun facts about how things work, and I love sharing that information with other people.

My goal is to empower people to feel good about their bodies and to feel happy about the decisions they make regarding the care of their body. I constantly strive to make your annual (or unexpected) reproductive health visit a more comfortable, relaxed, respectful, and positive experience.

Background

I have a BSN and MSN from the MGH Institute of Health Professions where I specialized in studying Women's Health and Adult Primary Care. I am nationally board certified in both specialties and am a licensed Certified Nurse Practitioner in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Prior to entering health care, I earned a BA in Biology and MA in Education at Clark University. I have over two decades of experience as an educator; both as a high school biology teacher and in informal settings teaching at museums, zoos, and outdoor education programs. I know a little bit about a lot of things - random bits of trivia are my calling card.

What I do

My training and certification has focused on primary care of the adult* population, with specialized training in gynecological and obstetrical care. I practice in college health and reproductive/family planning clinic settings, and the care I provide encompasses:

  • Family planning & sexual health care for all genders
  • ​STI screening and treatment
  • All forms of contraception including IUDs, implants, and diaphragms
  • Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy
  • Treatment for genital infections (yeast, bacteria, etc.)
  • Pre-conception and pregnancy counseling
  • Menstruation/period concerns
  • Medical abortion
  • Pelvic floor health
  • Menopause care

I also provide annual wellness visits, routine screenings such as pap smears, preventative care like HPV vaccination, and comprehensive health assessments to help keep you on track for your health goals.
